Abstract: |
Milton of Fintray was a fairly typical Aberdeenshire Improvement steading with four stone-built ranges set around a central court. There was some sophistication with a well-built central archway into the courtyard. It is shown on the 1st OS map of 1865 and was probably built between 1800 and 1865. A later OS map of 1899 shows some alterations which can be identified in the surviving structure. One half of the steading had previously been converted into a dwelling and part of the remainder used as a workshop so few original internal details remained. J C Murray 2014. |
