Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd conducted a trial trench archaeological evaluation on land off Mill Road, Hertford, as a condition of planning consent for the residential development of the site. Trial trenching revealed evidence for the post-medieval / modern development of the site, consisting of the late 19th century railway sidings and the later development and levelling of the site. No earlier finds or features of archaeological interest were identified during the evaluation.
