Abstract: |
CgMs Consulting has been commissioned by Taylor Wimpey to assess the archaeological implications of development of land at Hamilton Lane, Hamilton, Leicestershire. A desk-based assessment of the site concluded that it had a low-moderate potential to contain as yet unrecorded archaeological remains. A subsequent geophysical survey of the site has identified a small number of features that may be of archaeological origin, comprising three potential ring ditches and a linear ditch. The evaluation programme consisted of four targeted trenches, no features of archaeological significance were observed. The geophysical anomalies were most likely the result of plough scarring and variations in the subsoil depth. |
