Abstract: |
Wessex Archaeology was commisioned by URS on behalf of Ecotricity to conduct a nine trench evaluation on land at Old Dalby Lodge, melton mowbray ahead of the development of nine wind turbines on the site. The geophysical survey of the Site produced little evidence for archaeological remains within the Site. A total of nine trenches were excavated to test the interpretation of the Geophysics. The nine trenches revealed no archaeology with some natural and modern disturbance including land drains within several of the trenches. The evaluation suggests that the Site does not contain significant archaeological remains and that the geophysical survey is accurate and representative of the lack of archaeological remains within the Site. |
