Abstract:
Level 2( English heritage) Historic building recording and archaeological monitoring. Church Farm Barn. Planning permission for the conversion of Church Farm Barn to a domestic dwelling was granted by Suffolk County Council in 2008. The project requirements are, to carry out a level 2 (English Heritage) building inspection and recording of the original barn and its setting/context within a rural, historic core of the village of Thorndon in Suffolk. The archaeological monitoring will be carried out in line with the requirements as stated in the brief for this project ( authior: Jess Tipper) from the Conservation team of SCCAS. The groundworks will consist of trenching to the interior of the barn for new structural ,internal walls. A full report will be made available of any finds, and archaeological sequences that are encountered. A summary report will be included in the main report.
