Abstract: |
Following inadvertent encroachment of forestry works on the March Burn-Little Clyde Roman Road (SAM 3348) at Howecleuch, near Crawford, Alder Archaeology conducted remedial cleaning and recording of selected sites in four areas (01-03 and 05). These comprised areas of hinge-mounding, a lay-by and a log-stacking bench, which were photographed and drawn in plan and section. Apart from some evidence of metalling which may have represented part of the Roman road, no archaeological remains were encountered. R Cachart 2014. |
