Note:
The report covers the historic building recording of the glasshouses both before, during and after demolition. Archaeological evidence revealed the existence of three separate glasshouse structures as opposed to one long structure; the central glasshouse was removed prior to 1905 although parts of the fabric survive. Surviving internal fittings and structural features, comprising vine ladders, vine arches, winding mechanisms and ventilation shutes, indicate different functions. There have also been varying degrees of re-building meaning that one glasshouse retains more original fabric than the other. The two surviving glasshouses were demolished in May 2015 as they were in a precarious condition. This facilitated recording of features that were previously inaccessible, including the almost continuous run of vine arches. Standard Context One grey literature report with colour photographs and figures.
