Abstract: |
Three evaluation trenches between the standing buildings in the grounds of The Forge, a 17th century house, revealed that the large pond once extended further to the south, and had gradually silted up. In the top fills of the silts were sherds of 14th to 16th century pottery. In subsoil SW of the pond was a single sherd of 10th to 2th century pottery. |
