Abstract: |
In October 2012, a programme of archaeological evaluation (trial-trenching) took place to inform a planning application for a new primary school on the site of the former Lincoln City FC training ground at Carlton Boulevard in Lincoln (centred on NGR: TF 000 727). The work, conducted in accordance with a Written Scheme of Investigation approved by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC), represented an initial stage of archaeological investigation on the site. No pre-modern archaeological features or deposits were observed during the evaluation. The results show that neither Option 1 nor Option 2 of the proposed development will have any impact on archaeological remains. |
