Abstract: |
A desk-based analysis of Stagebank Cottage a 19th century crossing keepers cottage, was carried out as part of a larger tranche of building recording identified in the Borders Railway Environmental Statement. The cottage was demolished prior to a formal inspection and the study relied on third party sources. The report brings together existing architetural elevations and floor plans and established the phase development of the building which started as a late 19th century rectangular dwelling that was later refurbished in the 1970s or 1980s with the addition of bedrooms and a kitchen. |
