Abstract: |
Two areas were excavated within the site of a proposed development site. The areas had been selected following pre-construction surveys and evaluation trenching. In the south-western area a number of pits in a roughly rectilinear arrangement produced an assemblage of worked flints, of broadly Neolithic date, as well as animal bones, including probable aurochs, that may have been deliberately deposited. In the north-eastern area, two curvilinear ditches, undated but possibly prehistoric, were identified as well as two possible post-medieval field boundaries. |
