Abstract: |
AOC Archaeology Group was commissioned by the Orthodox Community of St Andrew to undertake a building survey of the presently redundant Buccleuch Church at 33 Chapel Street, Edinburgh, as part of a condition on the planning application to convert the building. The church was originally built in the 1750s, although was refurbished in the 1860s. The original church would have had an open gallery to the first floor, although at the time of survey a false ceiling had been put in to create two separate floors. It was most recently used as a community centre. |
