Abstract: |
In April 2015 Archaeological Research Services Ltd (ARS Ltd.) was commissioned by Linden Limited to undertake an archaeological building recording of St. George's Hospital, Morpeth in Northumberland. The building recording was focused on the former County Lunatic Asylum and its associated buildings that lie within the detailed and outline application boundaries. The building recording aimed to mitigate the impact of the proposed development on these structures, which are either due for demolition or conversion as part of the scheme. The building recording exercise was split into two phases of work (Phase 1A/1B and Phase 1C) to reflect development requirements. This report deals with Phase 1C of the works. |
