Abstract:		 This report has been prepared to accompany a planning application for a solar farm development near Taunton Racecourse. The sources consulted to prepare this document included a data search of Somerset Historic Environment Record, the examination of historic mapping and further documentary sources. A site walkover survey was also carried out as well as a setting assessment on designated assets in the surrounding area. The setting assessment determined that there would be no setting issues and there were no recorded heritage sites within the proposed development site or immediate vicinity. There was considered limited potential for previously unrecorded remains. As a result it was recommended that a geophysical survey may be required to ascertain the nature of any remains that may be present.
