Abstract: |
The project comprised the excavation and recording of fifteen trenches across a proposed development area, in order to test and refine the results of a previous geophysical survey. The evaluation, in conjunction with the geophysical survey, has identified multiple phases of fields and enclosures; the earliest of which is likely to date to the Prehistoric period. Two small Prehistoric pits were present at the east of the site and an Iron Age/Romano-British Round was located at the northeast. Features associated with the Round included postholes, pits, gullies and a possible industrial feature. A Medieval/Post-medieval agricultural enclosure was situated at the west of the site. |
