Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 13.2 hectares of grassland. Thw survey identified an area of settlement activity in the north-west, whilst former field boundaries and ridge and furrow cultivation suggest that the area has been used for agricultural purposes since the medieval period. A number of possible archaeological anomalies have also been identified, however it is not possible to determine their origin with any degree of confidence. The remaining anomalies are of modern or natural origin. The modern anomalies relate to former field boundaries, underground services, agricultural activity, ferrous objects and fencing. |
