Abstract: |
An archaeological trial trenching evaluation was carried out in advance of Phase 2 of a mixed-use development at Calderwood, East Calder. Vestigial remains of cultivation furrows indicate that the area was being utilised for agricultural purposes prior to 19th/20th century agricultural improvements. Numerous field drains provide evidence of recent agricultural improvements, but there were no features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance identified. |
