Abstract: |
Historic Building Recording at Lund House Lund House, a fairly typical Shetland Haa House, was probably built in the early or mid 18th century and was later raised and extended in 2 phases, of c.1800 and c.1900. The likely builder was Andrew Scott of Voesgarth/Greenwall or possibly John Ross, descended from the Ross's of Little Tarrel, near Portmahomack in Ross-shire. The surrounding steading, more typical of the local vernacular, and walled garden may also date from the 18th century. The principal aim of the work was to inform any further research or recording and to record the building prior to further collapse or down taking. The project included metric and photographic survey of the building, a written description and associated desk-based research. |
