Abstract: |
The results of a watching brief conducted at All Saints Church, Kirkby Mallory. The Diocesan Advisory Committee requested a Faculty for Work in relation to drainage at All Saints Church. A series of drainage gullies and channels were excavated leading to two soakaways. The brief was to observe groundworks and record any features and skeletal remains in the land surrounding the church and within the graveyard. Three small drainage gullies excavated close to the church, exposed a tiled surface and possible earlier buttress foundations. Preservation of skeletal remains was very poor. Four partial skeletons and charnel remains were re-interred within the church grounds. |
