Abstract:		 A watching brief was carried out at the site of a new house being built on former agricultural land. No structures were uncovered and the only feature was a small irregular oval hollow, which may have been a tree hole. 21 sherds of pottery, with very different dates (15th/16th century to 20th century) and provenances (including Cornwall, the English Midlands and Germany) were found, confirming Scilly's maritime connections over an extended period of time.
