Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was maintained on the groundworks for a new access trackway off the northern frontage of Tillbridge Lane, which marks the line of a Roman road. A scheduled site of a Roman villa is also situated to the east. The archaeological monitoring did not identify any archaeological activity. Finds comprised one sherd of abraded 13th-14 century pottery and one sherd of late 18th-mid 20th century pottery. The remainder of the finds assemblage consisted of fragments of 18th-20th century roof tile fragments. |
