Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 137 hectares of agricultural land. A number of areas of former settlement activity, comprising enclosures and pits, have been identified and may be associated with the Iron Age and Roman periods. Former historic field boundaries and evidence of ridge and furrow cultivation provide evidence of past agricultural activity. A number of positive anomalies are indicative of former cut features and may be of archaeological origin, though their exact origin is unknown. The remaining features are of natural or modern origin and include a track, service, land drains and ferrous objects. |
