Abstract: |
Trial trench excavations identified part of a double ditched enclosure located to the west of Hazard Farm, Harberton, near Totnes. Finds recovered from the outer enclosure ditch included eight sherds of later Iron Age pottery. Activity and occupation in the surrounding landscape continued in the post-Roman period with radiocarbon dates from two pits and an upper fill of the large inner enclosure ditch providing dates from the early 5th to early 7th centuries AD. A subsequent archaeological watching brief was conducted during the construction of a solar park. No archaeological features or artefacts were identified in that phase.. |
