Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was conducted by Northlight Heritage on behalf of CALA Homes (West) Ltd at Waterfoot, East Renfrewshire, between 18th and 21st September 2012. Twenty six trenches, a total of 2140.2 m2, were opened across the proposed development area and approximately 8% of the total construction area was evaluated. Several sites of archaeological potential that had been highlighted by West of Scotland Archaeological Service (WoSAS) were investigated either by evaluation trenching or visual inspection, dependent on the potential impact of the proposed development on the particular site or its proximity to a river. No significant archaeological deposits were encountered during the evaluation. It is recommended that, in light of the results of evaluation, no further archaeological work is required.
