Abstract: |
Archaeological field evaluation, via trial trenching, was carried out on land at St Leonards Farm, Blunsdon. The site was located to the east of Swindon, lying south of the A420 Oxford Road and to the north of the River Cole near Longleaze Farm. The site formed part of a wider proposal known as the Eastern Villages Scheme. A probable Romano-British linear settlement was identified in the north-west corner of the site whist the sparsely distributed prehistoric or undated features across the majority of the site suggested an area of low level agricultural use. |
