Abstract:		 Archaeological trenching probably demonstrated the far western extent of the medieval hamlet of Cotton End, now part of Long Buckby. A plough-dispersed probable roadside midden marked the boundary of settlement and agriculture. No structures were present although the vestiges of the midden produced a notable assemblage of 13th- to 14th-century coarseware pottery from as many as seven vessels.
