Abstract: |
The barn or laithe at Blackburn House is stone built and presently four bays long, but appears to have been shortened at its north end. Architectural features suggest an 18th or possibly 17th century origin, but the barn has been partially rebuilt, and the present roof is late 19th or early 20th century, while the interior has a modern hay-loft throughout and lacks historic fixtures or fittings. |
