Abstract:		 Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out by AC archaeology during groundworks associated with the construction of a new agricultural livestock building on land at Ridge Lane, Calverleigh, Near Tiverton. The site comprised part of a wider pasture plot positioned on elevated ground to the north of Ridge Lane. The monitored groundworks consisted of the bulk reduction of the area covered by the proposed new building. The site is located approximately 150m to the west of a probable square enclosure has been identified through aerial photograph transcription. This is likely to be of late prehistoric or Romano-British date. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed. A small collection of post-medieval and modern pottery and glass were recovered from the topsoil and subsoil.
