Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 14.5 hectares of grassland. The survey at Liskeard has identified a post-medieval quarry (HER number: MCO37107) as the only probable archaeology on the site. A number of possible archaeological anomalies have been detected, however the majority of these could equally be of modern agricultural origin or relate to former field boundaries. A number of field boundaries, areas of ridge and furrow cultivation, and modern agricultural activity suggest that the site has been used for agricultural purposes since the early medieval period. The remaining anomalies are modern in origin relating to underground services, ferrous objects and fencing. |
