An archaeological evaluation was carried out at 11 Babraham Road, Sawston prior to residential development. No significant archaeological finds or features were recovered despite known archaeological remains in the vicinity. Two possible ditches of an unknown date were excavated.

Two small excavations were carried out to the south and east of the Ramsey Ailwyn Community School in advance of the construction of a new science block. Three ditch boundaries and a few small quarry pits were recorded. [Au(abr)]

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on the proposed pipeline route. A prehistoric flint flake was recovered and six small modern ditches were identified. [Au(adp)]

On 19th and 20th June 2006, Cambridgeshire County Council Archaeological Field Unit carried out an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching at No.80 High St, Sutton in advance of the construction of dwellings.It was envisaged that this evaluation would identify activities associated with the medieval settlement of Sutton. In the event the evaluation revealed limited evidence in the form of post-medieval/modern build up or levelling layers.

A trench 0.4m wide and 0.6m deep was dug to take cables, much of the work was carried out without an archaeologist on site. Only two short sections were monitored, these were; c. 30m at the southwest end and c. 40m before the sluice at the northeast end. These sections of trench were dug with mini-diggers. It appears that the area at the southwest, between Godmanchester Lock and Port Holme, either had spoil dumped on it during the construction of the lock in the 1970's, or was heavily disturbed. The stretch to the northeast, on the 'island' was dug down to the natural, but no archaeology or finds were observed. The topsoil in this area had a depth of around 0.3m.

Evaluation work revealed a lack of archaeological information. Two trenches were excavated below the footprint of a demolished factory adjacent to Scotland Road. Neither contained archaeological remains. Both contained elements of the demolished factory, Trench 2 was located entirely within a modern backfilled excavation, perhaps a cellar.

During November and December 2007, CAM ARC conducted an Historic Building Recording at High House, near Purfleet in Essex.High House itself is a Grade II listed late 17th century brick manor house, or country residence and one of the oldest structures in a group of manorial farm buildings. Originally part of the Manor of West Thurrock, there was a building on the site from at least the mid 16th century, but possibly earlier. Several phases of construction and renovation have been identified during the investigation.The current structure was built c. 1684 and at the time of construction little decorative work was undertaken, but around c. 1700 a major decoration scheme was implemented on the main rooms in the house, which included extensive panelling. The building of the house and major schemes of decoration can be attributed with some degree of certainty to known individual owners of the property.Further phases of work were undertaken during the 18th century, and during the 19th century the house was extended. During the 19th century the house fell in status from manor, to manorial farm, to working farm. In the early 20th century the farm was taken over as a school, and was later converted into flats. These last two events were destructive to the historic fabric of the house, but thankfully much fabric has survived almost intact.

Between 15th and 30th of January 2007, CAM ARC (formerly CCC AFU) conducted an archaeological evaluation at Land at Wesleyan Road, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough (TF 1910 0160). The work was carried out at the request of Bidwells. This archaeological evaluation was undertaken in accordance with a Brief issued by Peterborough City Council and a Specification prepared by CAM ARC. This evaluation revealed important remains of a large Middle to Late Iron Age settlement at Wesleyan Road in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough. These included a possible farmstead with a number of field boundaries, a possible roundhouse, a small number of pits and a kiln/industrial feature. The synthesis of information gained as a result of this evaluation and previous work undertaken within the environs of Peterborough will aid interpretation of the development of the local Iron Age landscape. The remains at Weslyean road have the potential to make a contribution towards local Iron Age research.

A 1x2m test pit was excavated, to a maximum depth of 1.2m, in order to determine whether the proposed development would interfere with the remains of St Giles Chapel, suspected to be in the immediate vicinity of the turbine''s desired location. No archaeological features were revealed with the exception of a possible pit, which the test pit just cut into, in the SW corner. All datable artefacts were of Post-medieval date with the exception of a couple of residual Medieval sherds of pottery.
