An archaeological watching brief during the construction of a new garage at 'The Motte', Ell Lane, Brinklow, revealed a small part of a medieval layer containing pottery probably dating to the 14th century, along with a layer containing 19th-centiry domestic waste. No other archaeological features or layers were observed. Observation of ground works for the construction of the new house revealed only natural clay and topsoil. The site is likely to have lain within the rear part of a medieval property and the medieval finds probably derive from rubbish disposal in this area. Terracing activity from the 1970s had truncated around a third of the area of the new house.

An archaeological evaluation consisting of three trial trenches was undertaken on behalf of Jeremy Cox after an existing dwelling had been demolished, within the supposed extent of the medieval settlement at Stretton-on-Dunsmore. No archaeological deposits or finds were revealed in the trenches which seems to suggest that the site was not in the inhabited part of the settlement in the medieval or post medieval periods.

An archaeological evaluation, consisting of six trial trenches, was undertaken on behalf of Cameron Homes prior ro proposed residential development. The site contains pronounced ridge and furrow earthworks and these were also present in the trenches. No other archaeological finds or features were reveled in the trenches suggesting that the site had most likely been in agricultural use from at least the medieval period.

An archaeological evaluation was carried out on behalf of Kate Foster, in advance of the construction of a replacement dwelling and associated re landscaping at 104 Tiddington Road, in an area of high sensitivity as defined by the Historic Environment Assessment of Local Service Villages, Stratford-on-Avon, following a desk-based assessment in August 2020 by One Ten Archaeology. Five trial trenches were excavated all containing Roman features and artefacts The evaluation has demonstrated that significant archaeological deposits survive on the development site. It has also been able to determine that the construction of the existing house will have severely impacted and diminished the significance of the underlying deposits. The proposed new footprint is marginally larger than that extant and a degree of harm can’t be avoided, although this is likely to be at a less than substantial level. There is little doubt that the buried archaeological resource on the site directly relates to the adjacent Scheduled Monument and is likely to represent a positive contribution to its significance. However, the same applies to many of the individual house plots on the Tiddington Road and there is no indication that the level of harm presented by the proposal exceeds that of adjacent and nearby redevelopments.

An archaeological evaluation undertaken prior to the construction of a new dwelling at 111 Coleshill Road, revealed no evidence for medieval Curdworth. It is likely that the site lay outside of the medieval settlement as truncation of the site was very limited.

The main aim of the work was to record any archaeological remains disturbed by the development, to collate the records in an archaeological archive and present the significant aspects of the archive in a report for dissemination. The objective of the work was a programme of controlled excavation to development formation levels, or the geological natural, whichever the higher. The work undertaken involved the examination of early map evidence as well as records of archaeological remains in the area and local historical journals and other publications. An experienced archaeologist was made available for each day of ground disturbance when notified by the client in accordance with the WSI. Archaeological observation at 13 North Street, Marton revealed deposits associated with use of the site as a garden in the 19th and 20th centuries. No earlier deposits or finds were encountered and the geological natural was not reached.

The evaluation was designed to determine, as far as possible, the nature of the archaeological resource on the site and to gather sufficient information as to the extent, character, state of preservation and date of any remains within the site so a decision could be made on the requirement for any further mitigation strategy. The work undertaken involved the examination of early map evidence as well as records of archaeological remains in the area and local historical journals and other publications. This was followed by the excavation of a two trenches designed to cover a representative sample of the area to be developed. No archaeological remains associated with the possible Roman period activity in the vicinity were revealed during the fieldwork; however it is possible that such remains may survive on the site. A total of at least 10 graves were revealed. These were generally aligned south-west to north-east and it was possible to identify four distinct rows of graves in Trench 2. Human bone was identified in all the graves and was cleaned or defined to allow initial assessment of bone identification and articulation. No complete skeletons were revealed as in all cases the graves extended beyond the limits of the trenches. None of the inhumations were removed or disturbed. Notwithstanding that no dateable material was found in the graves, no graves were completely excavated, there is little doubt that, based on the location, alignment and density of graves, the presence of stone-lined burials, and the condition of the bone, that these form part of the medieval churchyard associated with St Lawrence Church. The absence of any structural evidence in the graves tends to confirm the currently conjectured extent of the church further to the north. The medieval churchyard extended over an area with a north-south dimension of at least 48m. It undoubtedly extended from the eastern side of the Stratford Road; although it is most likely that the western limit was lost during road widening work in 1837. The northern limit probably lies close to the property boundaries of 3 Stratford Road and the current work shows the southern limit includes 13 Stratford Road and probably beyond. The eastern extent of the churchyard is less well understood, but the original churchyard may have been approximately 2500m2. .

An archaeological evaluation, consisting of two trial trenches, was undertaken on behalf of Mr Ian Findlater in advance of replacement side and rear extensions at 14 Combrook, Combrook, Warwickshire CV35 9HP. No significant archaeological deposits or finds were recovered from any of the trenches.

Archaeological observations during the construction of an extension to 14b High Street, Alcester, uncovered a wall which could have been Roman. A layer, containing pottery and other finds dating from the Roman perios to the 19th century, was consistent with that of a garden soil in an urban area that has been occupied for many centuries.
