C Spence
Multi-season research and training excavation. The project is aimed at applying modern excavation techniques to a Roman settlement site in Lincolnshire, with a date range from the 1st to 3rd centuries. A further masonry structure appeared to have functioned as a 'plunge-pool'. A single infant inhumation was also excavated. Report on Watching Brief Observations during works associated with the redevelopment of the Wickham Hall student residences at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN1 3DY
C Spence
Watching brief observations made during ground-works associated with the demolition and rebuilding of Wickham Hall on the Bishop Grosseteste University campus in Lincoln. Observations were made of the archaeological stratification at the site and an interpretation of two features was undertaken with reference to archaeological and historical context. A linear feature, probably of post-medieval date, was recorded as well as the edge of a large quarry pit of likely post-medieval or early 20th century date.
