JPS Heritage Services has been assisting developers, architects, construction companies and local planning authorities (LPAs) with a range of heritage and archaeological requirements since 2011. We undertake archaeological/built heritage Desk-Based Assessments (DBAs) where these are required as part of the documentation to be submitted in planning applications to the local authority (typically for residential housing development or solar farm installation). We also provide Heritage Statements where these are required by LPAs and/or English Heritage where there is a perceived development impact upon the setting of a designated historic site (typically listed buildings or Scheduled Ancient Monuments). Other services include: providing archaeological/built heritage assessment chapters for EIAs, archaeological/heritage risk assessment and built heritage surveys. Primarily, we operate in the South-West of England across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall but have we have undertaken DBAs in the Home Counties and the midlands.
