Heritage and Archaeological Research Practice Limited (HARP) were commissioned by Engineshed LLP to carry out a programme of archaeological works at the location of a proposed redevelopment at 22A Milton Street, Edinburgh in order to fulfill an archaeological condition as part of planning consent. The proposed development consists of a part demolition and change in use of the existing structures to two new, four bed dwellings. The development works will consist of part demolition of the existing structures and ground breaking for foundations and drainage prior to the construction of the new buildings. The archaeological works consisted of a Desk-Based Assessment (DBA), Historic Building Recording (HBR) and an archaeological watching brief to monitor ground breaking associated with the development. Results of the DBA, HBR and watching brief show that the warehouse complex at 22A Milton Street originates from the late 19th Century, and was part of the original Milton House Works. Since its original construction there were several alterations to the original structure, including a likely demolition and rebuilding of the western building. Following redevelopment works at 22A Milton Street, all of the original eastern building, and the additional steel roof beams remain standing and have been incorporated into the redevelopment. The rebuilt western building has been demolished and will be replaced by a new building. Other than the original foundations for the western building, and a possible tank stand associated with the original foundations, no other archaeological remains were revealed.

A two week training field school was carried out at Kildavie, North West Mull, with excavation of one building and a series of test pits opened. The excavation continued work in the North West Mull Community Woodland from previous years work by HARP, and was carried out by an international team of university students, and members of the Mull Archaeology Interest Group. The excavations revealed the interior of a domestic building within the main settlement, and the remains of a circular stone structure, possibly prehistoric in origin, located on a plateau to the south east of the township. The building investigated was the last used or occupied building within the township, likely dating to the first half of the nineteenth century. The circular stone structure identified on a nearby plateu indicates a possibly prehistoric origin, but further excavation is required to confirm this. The finds included pottery fragments, fragments of glass, and fragments of animal bones. Excavations will continue in summer 2019.

Heritage and Archaeological Research Practice Limited (HARP) were commissioned by Atkins, on behalf of Stirling Council, to carry out a programme of archaeological works to fulfil part of the planning condition for a proposed cemetery at the Land East of Braes of Greenock, Balvacachlan, Callander. The first phase of the works consisted of an archaeological evaluation of the western half of the proposed development site. The western half (5.5 ha) of the development site was therefore subject to an 8% archaeological evaluation. Trial trenching in the western half of Land East of the Braes of Greenock,have revealed the presence of a 19th century or earlier field bank, and two possible pits and a possible ditch of unknown date. A total of 46 (50m x 2m) trenches were excavated across the western half of the development site, amounting to 4413m2, just over 8% of the 5.5ha. The remains revealed are likely isolated, or of lesser significance. The remaining portions of the evaluated area were of poor condition, with poor drainage and waterlogged conditions. No significant remains were revealed other than a series of field drains of both rubble and clay pipe varieties, and the presence of a likely 19th century field bank that was fully recorded.
