Proceedings of the 1980 Conference on Computer Applications in Archaeology
This book comprises six of the communications to the 1980 conference on Computer Applications in Archaeology held in Birmingham. Two of the papers (S Cogbill, 35-8; M Fletcher and G Lock, 39-48) discuss the role of computers as aids in detecting patterns in post-hole distributions, while N Iliff (28-34) suggests that simulation may help understand patterning in cemeteries. S G H Daniels (3-8) presents two software packages (AQUA and ARCHON) for archaeological quantitative data analysis. The potential of flexible database management systems for excavation data is urged by I Johnson (9-16) with special reference to hunter-gatherer sites. J F C
