This collection comprises site data (images, CAD and Written Scheme of Investigation) from Archaeological Trial Trench Evaluation at the Old Rectory, Preston Capes, Northamptonshire (NGR 457488 254887) in April 2019. This work was undertaken by MOLA and involved the excavation of six trenches in the proposed area of two new ponds.

Trenches 2 to 6, in the area of the proposed large pond to the north, were excavated on level ground, but Trench 1, in the area of the small pond to the south, was excavated east-west down a steep hill slope. None of the trenches excavated revealed any archaeological remains except Trench 1, in the area of the small pond, which contained the remains of a post-medieval pit. Trench 6 was positioned across an earthwork bank that likely formed a part of post-medieval landscaping; there were no other deposits other than subsoil and topsoil in this area.
