This collection comprises images and GIS data from an archaeological evaluation undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in September 2018 at Cowfield Farm, The Courtyard, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
Ten trenches were excavated. The northern and western arms of a moat recorded on historic mapping, as well as parts of a causeway/bridge across the moat, a swimming pool and a farmhouse were identified during the evaluation.
Three further ditches were identified. One was located to the north of the site external to the moat. The other two were identified in the south of the site within the moat. Post-medieval pottery was recovered from within the fills of these two ditches. None of the three ditches were identified within a previous geophysical survey.
A wall was also identified within the northern part of the area defined by the moat. It only survived as one course and its function could not be determined.
