Introduction

This collection comprises of site photographs, photogrammetry, drone videos, GIS data and reports from a historic landscape study and setting recording of assets commissioned by Fusion and undertaken by Wardell Armstrong at Radstone, Northamptonshire during January 2020.

Project Summary

The area of study includes the entirety of the settlement at Radstone, including the Grade I listed Church of St Lawrence and an area of land extending to the north, west and south. The route of Phase 1 of the High Speed Two (HS2) railway passes through this landscape and construction activities will bring about changes to its character that will impact upon the setting of the grade I listed church. A recording of setting is therefore required to provide survey data concerning the appearance of the landscape, its character and evolution, prior to the changes being brought about by the HS2 scheme.

Re-Use Value Statement

The document identifies those aspects of the landscape including views that contribute to significance and identifies also those detracting elements. The report includes an assessment of how setting will survive following the construction of HS2. This study comprises a documentary and drone video/photogrammetric record of the landscape, which can be used for future analysis.
