Detail of stone facing with hedge HE-01-01

This collection comprises images from a watching brief at Langarth, Truro. This work was undertaken by Cornwall Archaeological Unit September 2022 to January 2023.

The watching brief of hedge breaks involved the recording of sections and elevations, creation of photographic record and an archive report. Recording of 31 hedge breaks in Cornish hedges took place.

These are historic field boundaries the majority of which are recorded on the c1840s Kenwyn Tithe map and are at least early 19th century in date, probably with most fossilising medieval field boundary lines. Records were made for archive and to inform any reconstruction to be carried out.
