Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

This collection comprises images and data from a detailed magnetometry survey carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd. at Churchill Road, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire in March 2023.

A geophysical survey, comprising detailed magnetometry, was carried out over 0.5ha on the south western edge of Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire using a hand-pushed, cart-based system of 5 sensors spaced 0.5m apart collecting data at 20Hz.

The results indicate the presence of a small enclosure and a linear ditch which appear to have archaeological potential. A number of discrete, pit-like anomalies could also relate to cut features with archaeological potential, although they are widespread and do not have a coherent pattern and a natural origin is possible.

Other linear anomalies have also been located, but they appear to correspond to features seen within LiDAR imagery, and it is possible that they are associated with agricultural activity or drainage.
