This collection comprises text, images, spreadsheets, GIS and photogrammetric 3D models from a historic building and setting recording carried out in September 2020 by COPA prior to the demolition of the buildings at Mullensgrove Farm in Curdworth, Warwickshire.
As part of the enabling works programme for the HS2 project in the Community Forum Area CFA20 Curdworth to Middleton, COPA (Cotswold Archaeology, Oxford Archaeology and Pre-Construct Archaeology) were commissioned by LM-JV (Laing O'Rourke and J. Murphy & Sons Ltd.) to carry out historic building and setting recording prior to the demolition of the buildings of Mullensgrove Farm.
This work was undertaken in accordance with the Location Specific Written Scheme of Investigation and the Project Plan. COPA carried out external and internal photographic surveys of the buildings and their setting on 2 and 3 September 2020. The farmhouse, ostensibly an 18th-century farmhouse but which has probable 16th- or 17th-century origins, was recorded to Level 3 as defined by Historic England, including dendrochronological analysis; the ancillary buildings, comprising a 19th-century barn and stable and later 20th-century ancillary buildings were recorded to Level 2. Mullensgrove Farm is located on Kingsbury Road, approximately 1.75km to the north-east of Curdworth, Warwickshire. The farmstead is thought to have been constructed as cottage or farmhouse associated with the Dunton Manor Estate.
