Distinctive Features

The overall form is quite similar to the Augst 34 / Fréjus-Lenzburg amphora. The rim is prominent and flares outwards from the cylindrical neck, while the handles are grooved, the body is ovoid and the base flat.

Macroscopic and chemical analysis places the production in Fréjus (Brentchaloff, 1988; Brentchaloff, 1990; Sciallano & Sibella, 1991; Laubenheimer, 1992).
