Distinctive Features

There is some variation in the rim form of this type. Usually it is a thickened rounded rim, slightly down-turned but another variety shows a more square form of rim. There are bifid handles and a cylindrical body leading to a ?solid spike. Many of these vessels are stamped.

First to second centuries AD


It was produced in coastal areas of the Valencia region of eastern Spain (Gisbert Santonia, 1998) with workshops identified at such sites such as Almadrava, Oliva and Catarroja.
