Very distinctive fabric: buff, crumbly, porous, with a lot of inclusions of quartz and other grey inclusions (see the observations of RemolĂ , 2000: 154). Another specimen under observation showed a hard, rough, thin-walled fabric with limestone inclusions. The outer surface is pale yellow in colour (5Y 7/3) with a red inner core (2.5YR 5/8).
This is essentially a quartz-limestone fabric.
