Amphorae of this form examined from Britain, and probably from southern France, tend to have a soft, slightly rough fairly fine-textured fabric, pinkish-buff (between 5YR 8/4 to 7.5YR 7/4) in colour.
There is some variability of fabric no doubt reflecting several different production centres.
