The only examples examined are well-fired with common 0.5-1mm lime and iron oxide pellets being the most striking feature. Not sandy, so not as the ‘Carrot amphora’ (Peacock & Williams, 1986: Class 12). The high lime content recalls the fabric of variants of Agora M 334 exported to southern France (e.g. Lyon and Arles), whose source differs from typical examples of Agora M334 found in Beirut.
The example from Avenches contains moderately frequent, fairly well-rounded, moderately sized quartz grains set in a clay matrix of silt-sized quartz grains
