Fabric A is grey with a pinkish inner side and core, white inclusions (calcite), white mica (?) or fine quartz crystals (?), very hard, brownish, rounded quartz (?), and a greyish slip outside; (Opaiţ, 1991c: 223, Pl.33.1). Fabric B has a ‘hellbrauner Ton mit rotbrauner Engobe’ and is reddish-brown. A similar amphora's fabric description could correspond with the examples discovered in Dobrudja and the Crimea: ’ziegelrotem, feinkörnig geschlämmten Ton mit hohem Glimmergehalt’ (Böttger, 1982: 105, Type I 4, Pl.20; Conrad, 1999: Fig. I.3).
Petrological details not available.
