An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in May 2016 at the former Cavalier Tavern, St Georges Lane North, Worcester, Worcestershire. Three trenches were excavated.
Medieval to post medieval activity comprising two ditches and three gullies was identified in the north and east of the site respectively. External post-medieval surfaces, possibly associated with an earlier phase of the St Georges Tavern, and a probable clay extraction pit was also identified. Late post-medieval/modern disturbance was identified within all trenches.
