In January 2017, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief during groundworks associated with the construction of a solar farm at Blackwell Grange, Blackwell, Warwickshire.
Geophysical survey and trial trench evaluation had identified the archaeological remains of Iron Age and Roman settlement and activity in the central and eastern parts of the site. The watching brief identified two ditches in a cable trench at the southern edge of the settlement that correspond with linear anomalies, probably Iron Age enclosure ditches, identified by the geophysical survey.
