Introduction

Albion Court Caravan Park, Scowles, Coleford, Gloucestershire, Archaeological Survey (OASIS ID: cotswold2-332268)

In October 2018, a programme of photographic recording was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology on the 'scowle' at Albion Court Caravan Park, Coleford, Gloucestershire. The site covers an area of approximately 0.17ha and consists of a derelict caravan park, bounded on the north, west and south by residential properties and gardens, and by woodland to the east. A comprehensive photographic and written record of the scowle was compiled during the course of the survey. The scowle can be placed within the typical pattern of these features seen throughout the Forest of Dean.
